Luke 3:15

And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts whether John was the Christ or not,
And as the people were in expectation, and all men reasoned in their hearts concerning John, whether haply he were the Christ;
Now the people were in a state of expectation, and all were wondering in their hearts about John, as to whether he was the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed).
As the people were in suspense and waiting expectantly, and everybody reasoned and questioned in their hearts concerning John, whether he perhaps might be the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of John, whether he were the Christ, or not;
Now the people were waiting expectantly, and all of them were questioning in their hearts whether John might be the Messiah.
The people were filled with expectation, and everyone wondered whether John might be the Christ.
The people were in a state of great expectancy, and everyone was wondering whether perhaps Yochanan himself might be the Messiah;
Everyone became excited and wondered, “Could John be the Messiah?”
But as the people were in expectation, and all were reasoning in their hearts concerning John whether *he* might be the Christ,
And while the populace was waiting-in-expectation and all were pondering in their hearts about John— if perhaps he might be the Christ—
And as the people were of opinion, and all were thinking in their hearts of John, that perhaps he might be the Christ;
Everyone was hoping for the Messiah to come, and they wondered about John. They thought, “Maybe he is the Messiah.”
At this time people were thinking, ‘Is John the Messiah that God has promised?’ They were all hoping that he might be.
The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John might be the Christ.
As the people were in expectation, and all were questioning in their hearts concerning John, whether he might be the Christ,
As the people were filled with expectation, and all were questioning in their hearts concerning John, whether he might be the Christ,
Since the people were ·hoping [waiting expectantly] for the ·Christ [Messiah] to come, they [L all] wondered if John might be the ·one [L Christ; Messiah].
As the people waited, and all men mused in their hearts of John, if he were not that Christ.
People’s hopes were rising as they all wondered whether John was the Messiah.
People's hopes began to rise, and they began to wonder whether John perhaps might be the Messiah.
Now the people were waiting expectantly, and all of them were debating in their minds whether John might be the Messiah.
All the people were hoping for the Christ to come, and they wondered about John. They thought, “Maybe he is the Christ.”
Now the people were filled with expectation, and all of them were wondering if John was perhaps the Messiah.
The people were in a great state of expectation and were inwardly discussing whether John could possibly be Christ. But John answered them all in these words, “It is true that I baptise you with water, but the one who follows me is stronger than I am—indeed I am not fit to undo his shoe-laces—he will baptise you with the fire of the Holy Spirit. He will come all ready to separate the wheat from the chaff, and to clear the rubbish from his threshing-floor. The wheat he will gather into his barn and the chaff he will burn with a fire that cannot be put out.”
¶ And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of John, whether he were the Christ, or not,
And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of John, whether he were the Christ, or not;
And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of John, whether he were the Christ, or not;
Now while the people were in a state of expectation and all were reasoning in their hearts about John, as to whether he was the Christ,
And while the people were waiting expectantly and all were pondering in their hearts concerning John, whether perhaps he might be the Christ,
Everyone was expecting the Messiah to come soon, and eager to know whether or not John was he. This was the question of the hour and was being discussed everywhere.
The interest of the people by now was building. They were all beginning to wonder, “Could this John be the Messiah?”
As the people were in expectation, and everyone reflected in their hearts upon John, whether he might be the Christ or not,
Since the people were filled with anticipation · and all were questioning in · their hearts about · John (“Could he perhaps be the Messiah?”)
People’s hopes were rising as they all wondered whether John was the Messiah.
Now the people were filled with expectation, and all were asking in their hearts whether John might be the Messiah.
Now while the people were in a state of expectation and they all were thinking carefully in their hearts about John, whether he himself perhaps was the Christ,
Now while the people were in a state of expectation and all were wondering in their hearts about John, as to whether he was the Christ,
As the people began to experience a feeling of expectancy, they all wondered in their hearts whether John might be the Christ.
Since the people were hoping for the Christ to come, they wondered if John might be the one.
While the people were filled with anticipation and they all wondered whether perhaps John could be the Christ,
The people were waiting. They were expecting something. They were all wondering in their hearts if John might be the Messiah.
The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John might possibly be the Messiah.
The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John might possibly be the Messiah.
Now as the people were in expectation, and all reasoned in their hearts about John, whether he was the Christ or not,
The people were looking for something to happen. They were thinking in their hearts about John the Baptist. They wondered if he might be the Christ.
Everyone was expecting the Messiah to come soon, and they were eager to know whether John might be the Messiah.
And as the people were in expectation, and all musing in their hearts about John, whether he was the Christ,
As the people were filled with expectation, and all were questioning in their hearts concerning John, whether he might be the Messiah,
As the people were filled with expectation, and all were questioning in their hearts concerning John, whether he might be the Messiah,
As the people were filled with expectation, and all were questioning in their hearts concerning John, whether he might be the Messiah,
As the people were filled with expectation and all were questioning in their hearts concerning John, whether he might be the Messiah,
The people were very excited, and everyone was questioning in their hearts whether John might not be the Messiah.
As the Am [Berit] were filled with expectation, and all were wondering in their levavot (hearts) concerning Yochanan, whether perhaps he might be the Moshiach,
As the people waited expectantly, and everyone wondered in their hearts whether John was the Christ,
As the people were in expectation, and all men questioned in their hearts concerning John, whether perhaps he were the Christ,
As the people were in expectation, and all men questioned in their hearts concerning John, whether perhaps he were the Christ,
Now the people were filled with expectation, and all were wondering in their hearts about John, whether he might be the Messiah.
John’s bold message seized public attention, and many began wondering if John might himself be the Anointed One promised by God.
As the people were in expectation, and all men reasoned in their hearts concerning John, whether perhaps he was the Christ,
The people were waiting to see what would happen. They were all asking about John. They thought that he might be the Christ, the great king promised by God long ago.
When all the people guessed, and all men thought in their hearts of John, lest peradventure he were Christ,
And the people are looking forward, and all are reasoning in their hearts concerning John, whether or not he may be the Christ;
